Namco Announces Dead to Rights II: Hell to Pay
October 21st, 2003 (12:00am) - Namco has announced Dead to Rights II: Hell to Pay, the sequel to the multi-platform Max Payne knock-off Dead to Rights. Developed internally at Namco, Dead to Rights II: Hell to Pay, from our understanding, is a completely different game from Extreme Force: Grant City Anti-Crime and is slated for release on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox in Fall 2004 with no current plans for a GameCube release.
In Dead to Rights II: Hell to Pay, Jack Slate and his K9 partner Shadow are thrown head first into the crossfire between criminal organizations battling for control over Grant Citys underworld. The story-driven action in Dead to Rights II: Hell to Pay promises intense new gameplay mechanics including a lightning-paced 360-degree brawling system, vicious melee weapon battles and an innovative new spherical slow motion diving system. "We are extremely excited to announce the sequel to our highly successful Dead to Rights title," said Andre Emerson, Senior Producer at Namco Hometek Inc. "With even more groundbreaking gameplay features, a gripping new hardboiled story and high cinematic production values, Dead to Rights II: Hell to Pay redefines the highly successful Action-Noir genre established by the original." Dead to Rights II: Hell to Pay is a third-person, story-driven Action title that delivers diverse gameplay mechanics, cinematic style and Hong Kong-inspired action.
