New Nintendo Console to Debut at E3 2004!
November 13th, 2003 (12:00am) - Nintendo of Japan announced today that for the first half of the fiscal year (April – September 2003) the company has reported a 2.9 billion yen (US$26.8 million) loss. At the same time during the previous fiscal year Nintendo had reported a 19 billion yen (US$175.5 million) profit. This is the first time the company has gone public reporting a mid-term loss since 1962.
Shockingly, Nintendo representative Yoshihiro Mori has also revealed that at the upcoming E3 in May 2004, the company will be unveiling their newest Next Generation gaming machine. However, it was not stated if whether or not the hardware is a successor to the GameCube or the Game Boy Advance. It has been suggested that it may be something entirely different… Nevertheless, the console is slated for release the following fiscal year and Nintendo’s Yoshihiro Mori has stated that a worldwide release for the hardware would be ideal. I pray that it won’t be another Virtual Boy…
