Gamecube Online! Well... Sort of.

December 11th, 2003 (12:00am) - http://www.warppipe.com>Warp Pipe, get it.

If you’ve been following Gamecube news, then I’m sure you already know about http://www.warppipe.com>Warp Pipe, the newest rage of Gamecube-goers going online. (Okay, that was a bit cheesy. Bear with me here.)

How it works is simple. You install the http://www.warppipe.com>Warp Pipe software onto your PC, and proceed to connect your Gamecube -via a Broadband adapter- to your network. Preferebly a hub. After this, you use http://www.warppipe.com>Warp Pipe to connect to anyone else on the program. Once connected (Via their IP only at this point- go to http://www.warppipe.com>warppipe.com for details on future versions.) you proceed to turn on the game of choice that supports the LAN feature, and presto. You’ll be connected and ready to play- actually online with that person.

However, at the moment the program is relatively slow if you live close and are both on fast broadband, and near unplayable from more than a few states away. But don’t fret, each release is becoming faster and fixing more and more bugs. I apologize for the severe lack of this update- and I don’t know why it was not posted earlier, however I encourage everyone with broadband (And Broadband only, sorry dial-up folks.) to go there and learn about this program.

Current support includes Mario Kart: Double Dash!! and Kirby Air Ride. They’re also readying for a version that supports 1080: Avalanche.

And now for something completely off topic:

On a side note, my apologies also for my severe lack of submitting anything to the site recently. I’ve been quite busy lately and plan to be in full force (once again...) soon. Until next time, keep your eyes open!
