Electronic Arts to Strongly Support the PSP
January 28th, 2004 (12:00am) - In a conference call held yesterday, Electronic Arts had revealed that the company would strongly support Sony’s PSP. It had been announced that many games are in development for Sony’s handheld, games which cost much more to produce than a Game Boy Advance title, with production costs in the one to two million dollar range. However, it is also expected that EA’s PSP titles will bring in greater revenue if all goes well. With that said, Electronic Arts has eight to twelve games scheduled for release at the platform’s launch or before the end of the 2005 fiscal year, which ends in March 2005 (expect to see familiar franchises).
Electronic Arts also expects to see the PSP launch with a price tag in between $199 and $249, with software titles priced at $39.
