Funcom to recieve grant from Norewgian government
February 19th, 2004 (12:00am) - You guys may remember Funcom from their widely accepted MMORPG series Anarchy Online, and their acclaimed expansion packs, (The Notum Wars, Shadowlands) it seems like the folks best known for their MMORPGs has gotten a grant from the Noregian Film Fund to produce, gasp, a video game.
Enter, Dreamfall. The next big step for Funcom. The title is set to release in 2005 and is suposed to be story driven, (conspiracy dealing with dreams, hence the name.) toppled with the visual oohs and ahs which is todays standard. Why is it important? By offering up money to go to the better good of video gaming, the Norewgian government has accepted gaming as a culture, and way of life all in its own right. Maybe now we can get a ripple effect started. Score two points for the gaming cultural clout. Reported by Davion Vanste on February 19th, 2004 (12:00am)
