Street Racing Syndicate Cancelled for the GameCube

February 22nd, 2004 (12:00am) - Namco, one of the GameCube’s strongest supporters, has cancelled the release of Street Racing Syndicate for the Nintendo GameCube. Specific reasons for this cancellation have not been disclosed for the time being.

"SRS will be available for PS2 and Xbox, [but] not the GameCube," said a Namco representative.

SRS on the Xbox version

A game property purchased last year from the now dead and buried 3DO, Street Racing Syndicate is a street racing gaming very similar to Electronic Art’s recent Need for Speed: Underground, focusing on the illegal racing found in such cities as Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Miami.

Street Racing Syndicate is still scheduled for a Q3 2004 release for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox.
