The PSP Delayed
February 25th, 2004 (12:00am) - Originally scheduled for a simultaneous worldwide release in late 2004, the PSP, Sony’s multipurpose handheld gaming platform, has been officially delayed until early 2005 in North American and European territories. "The reason we pushed it out here is [that] we wanted to be sure theres a reasonable amount of software titles to launch with [the] hardware," said Teresa Weaver, a spokesperson for Sony Computer Entertainment. With the delay of PSP in North America till 2005, the Nintendo DS, Nintendo’s new and mysterious portable game machine, will launch this Fall unopposed by Sony’s PSP. However, the PSP is still scheduled for a late 2004 release in Japan.
