Midway Drops GameCube Support
February 28th, 2004 (12:00am) - After announcing the company’s loss of approx. $28.6 million in their 4th quarter of the 2003 fiscal year, which ended December 31st, Midway has revealed that they will no longer be developing or publishing games for Nintendo’s GameCube console, including the recently announced Mortal Kombat: Deception. This confirmation official comes from a Midway representative, who confirmed to IGNcube.com that no future games are planned for release on the GameCube.
According to Midway, Mortal Kombat: Deception is going to be “shocking and evil,” and will also be the first fighting game to feature online play for both the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. Mortal Kombat: Deception has only been announced the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, scheduled for a Fall 2004 release.
