Namco’s Baten Kaitos in Novel Form

February 28th, 2004 (12:00am) - Baten Kaitos, one of Namco’s exclusive GameCube RPGs (the others being Tales of Symphonia and its planned sequel), is going to receive the novel treatment in Japan, as many other video game franchises have over the years, including Street Fighter, Final Fantasy, and even Halo. This comes as, Japanese publisher Shueisha has acquired the rights to publish novels on the GameCube’s Baten Kaitos and will do so with two already in the works entitled “The Castle of Baten Kaitos” and “Destruction of Baten Kaitos.” Both literary works will feature artwork from Namco’s character designer Nakaba Higurashi for their covers artwork, and are planned for release in March. Unfortunately, it is known whether these novels well undergo a translation for North American fans and readers.
