Two of Nintendo’s Big Three Return to E3

March 23rd, 2004 (12:00am) - Game Industry Biz is reporting some great news for Nintendo fans. As expected, Nintendo will showcase the sequels to both The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and Metroid Prime at Nintendo’s E3 pre-show, which is scheduled to commence a day prior to the actual E3 event on May 11th.

Retro Studios’ newest Metroid game for the GameCube is expected to appear in playable form, just as its predecessor did at E3 two years ago in Los Angeles, and just like Metroid Prime, the game is expected to create a massive buzz. The tentatively titled Metroid Prime 2 is expected to feature more Morph Ball situations, greater use of a third person perspective, and vastly improved visuals over Metroid Prime, which is arguably the best looking title on the GameCube to date.

As for the latest 3D installment in The Legend of Zelda franchise, its unveiling is expected at E3 2004, and most likely it will be in playable form as well. Using the same engine as The Wind Waker, Nintendo’s Wind Waker 2 will be on hand at E3.

No other details are available at the current time, but as the old saying goes… “Wait until E3.”
