Final Fantasy I & 2 Headed to Gameboy Advance

April 10th, 2004 (12:00am) - It has been confirmed that Square Enix is in the process of porting two versions of the class Final Fantasy series to the Gameboy Advance. These cult favorites, Final Fantasy I & II will be released on a single GBA cartridge.

The new GBA version of these 80’s classics feature upgraded graphics, as wells as a new "save-anywhere" feature. On top of these alterations to the game, magic can now be cast by consuming magic points, instead of magic stocks used in the original NES version. Final Fantasy I will now include a never before seen dungeon called the "Soul of Chaos", where you have the chance to obtain new weapons and fight against historical bosses in the Final Fantasy series, such as the Final Fantasy VI’s ghost train.

Final Fantasy II will also have a few notable changes, such as an extra story line called the "Soul of Rebirth", where you get the chance to play as the deceased Ming-Wu, Scott, Joseph and Richard, who all lost their lives through the course of the game.

These cult favorites will be released to Japanese gamers this July for 6,090 yen ($57). No American release date has been announced.
