Squad Assault: West Front Updated to v1.80

April 28th, 2004 (12:00am) - Matrix Games is pleased to announce that the new v1.80 update for Eric Young’s Squad Assault: West Front by DAS Entertainment and Freedon Games is now available for download.

David Heath, Director of Operations for Matrix Games, said “This new update contains a number of enhancements that improve both overall and vs. AI play. We all thank our customers for their ongoing support and feedback to help us make Squad Assault: West Front better than ever.”

The new v1.80 update includes improvements to vehicle animation and rate of fire as well as significant enhancements to the morale system, which now routs units less frequently and allows them to rally more quickly. The computer player benefits by reorganizing more quickly and conducts counterattacks more effectively than in previous versions.

In Squad Assault: West Front, you command troops in both the Allied and German Armies of the West Front of World War II in an immersive full 3-D continuous time environment.

Rated 86% in the PC Gamer, Squad Assault: West Front is a riveting re-creation of company/platoon level World War II tactical combat. Once the battle starts, the virtual soldiers you command respond with real reactions to the combat situations around them. This psychological modeling combines with unsurpassed detail in terrain, weather, weapons, vehicles, and armor penetration.
