May 11^th, 2004 (12:00am) - Reinforcing one of the strongest partnerships in the interactive entertainment industry, Electronic Arts (Nasdaq: ERTS) today announced that four blockbuster titles will ship day and date with the PlayStation® Portable (PSP) launch, the highly-anticipated portable entertainment player from Sony Computer Entertainment.

Designed to deliver the ultimate on-the-go play experience, EA’s Tiger Woods PGA TOUR Golf, Need for Speed Underground, NBA STREET and NFL STREET each will be customized and optimized for the new system. The first four titles will ship in the first quarter of 2005, with an additional 10 to 12 titles following within the first year of launch.

"Four years ago, when Sony launched the PlayStation 2, EA was there at the forefront of the software world, delivering state-of-the-art games right out of the gate. We plan to do the same with the PSP," said Don Mattrick, President of EA Worldwide Studios. "The last hardware cycle taught us how crucial it is that the software line-up at launch be outstanding and how deep an impact the games have on the entire lifespan of the system. We plan to kick off the PSP launch with a bang!"

EA has dedicated resources worldwide to the creation of the first generation of the PSP titles. Over 100 people from within EA development studios are hard at work on creating the games, which will be drawn from the extensive stable of hit franchises including top-sellers from all three brands; EA GAMES, EA SPORTS and EA SPORTS BIG.
