Rare Developing for the Nintendo DS
May 17th, 2004 (12:00am) - At E3, GameCube Advanced’s Seth Walker happened to run into former Nintendo of America exec Ken Lobb while playing Picto-Chat for the Nitendo DS.
After enjoying themselves with the demo, they began to speak, in which Mr. Lobb expressed his thoughts on the Nintendo DS, which he praised, in addition to confirming that Rare is indeed in possession of Nintendo DS development kits and currently in development with two titles for the platform. GCA also went on the record, confirming that Ken had said something along the lines of "It’s Mr. Pants would be great with the touch pad and the stylus!” However, this does not necessarily mean that It’s Mr. Parnts has been in development for the Nintendo DS, perhaps just a concept. It’s Mr. Pants is a mysterious Rare title based on an original character revealed on the company’s official website at http://www.rareware.com. The development of the game, according to Mr. Lobb is complete, but for reasons that have not yet been disclosed, THQ does not want to publish the handheld title.
