May 26^th, 2004 (12:00am) - Mythic Entertainment today released the first screenshots for Catacombs, the upcoming retail expansion pack for Dark Age of Camelot.

The screens compare the original Dark Age of Camelot character models side-by-side with new ones featured in Catacombs. Note the detailed armor and clothing, and the upgraded facial features. These images will give you a glimpse of the graphical upgrades that make Dark Age of Camelot exceed the look of any available MMORPG.

In addition to enhanced graphics throughout the game, in Catacombs players are given the opportunity to explore underground cities, adding new dungeon areas to each relam – with attached adventuring areas – based on the backstory of one underground player race per Realm. Many of these new adventures will be instanced, giving the player the chance to explore the underground world of Catacombs on their own schedule. The expansion also introduces one new player class per Realm. Catacombs will be available in stores in December 2004.
