New Massive Assault: Phantom Renaissance Screenshots Released
June 15th, 2004 (12:00am) - Wargaming.net today reveals the first 42 screenshots of its upcoming turn-based strategy game Massive Assault: Phantom Renaissance.
These screens demonstrate the significant improvements of the 3D engine, unit and terrain graphics. Presented are 4 planets with new terrain types: rivers, bridges, swamps, volcanoes plus new cities and plants. New unit types are shown: Free Nation Unions attack helicopters, pillboxes, highly demanded anti-aircraft vehicles and submarines. Phantom Leagues new weapons include deadly Bullfrogs (huge mechs capable of firing two types of guns at two different targets during the same turn), Leviathans (mighty naval monsters with similar two-target capability). The screens also show super-powerful "Green Devil" in action - the Leagues secret weapon of mass destruction, fired from the orbital satellites. More new units for both sides will be revealed soon. All these additions will bring extra depth to the gameplay and will enlarge the players tactical options with more combat techniques and strategic schemes to explore. "The nice visual impression of these screens gives a good idea of how significantly other aspects have been improved," said Victor Kislyi, the President of Wargaming.net. "Literally every component of the game has been upgraded, and new exciting gaming options added, including Assault mode, LAN play, RTS-style online play mode and lots of other enhancements - we are sure that strategy gamers will accept Phantom Renaissance as a solid sequel." Massive Assault: Phantom Renaissances think-based formula strengthened by new units and maps, with various A.I. opponent profiles, new Assault and RTS-style online mode will certainly make the game something unique and appealing to all strategy gamers. The developers expect to have beta version available by August 2004 and worldwide release following in few months.
