EGM Reveals New Nintendo DS Developments
June 21st, 2004 (12:00am) - According to buddy site GameCube Heaven, the upcoming August 2004 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM) has revealed a bevy of interesting tidbits regarding Nintendo DS developments. However, it must taken into consideration that GameCube Heaven’s sources may be incorrect, seeing how the actual issue could have only a reached a handheld of subscribers early.
The first of the new revelations regards the Nintendo DS’ Zelda title. According to Zelda director Eiji Aonuma, the Nintendo DS’ Zelda will be a multiplayer title similar to the GameCube’s Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventure. Additionally, the magazine questioned several high profile developers their thoughts on the Nintendo DS, and the following information had been uncovered: Toshihiro Nagoshi of Amusement Vision states that Nintendo has asked Nagoshi-san to design a Super Monkey Ball title for the Nintendo DS, which is a project that he is interested in pursuing Koji Igarashi of Konami states that a Castlevania title is in development for the Nintendo DS, which will play similar to Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow for the Game Boy Advance Yuji Naka of Sonic Team states that Nintendo has asked him to develop a Chu Chu Rocket title for the Nintendo DS, but he also comments that Project RUB for the Nintendo DS, will open up a whole new genre The Director of Silent Hill states that he is interested in developing a more action oriented Silent Hill for the Nintendo DS The Director of Contra states that he will begin work on a Nintendo DS project once he decides how to utilize its featuresHopefully within the coming days this information will be confirmed… We’ll keep you posted.
