Raging Tiger Goes Gold

July 8th, 2004 (12:00am) - Raging Tiger: The Second Korean War for the Windows OS, designed by Army veteran Curt D. Pangracs and developed by Patrick Proctor and ProSIM, has just gone gold. Even as you read this, production is in full swing, with an estimated release date of August 16, 2004. As usual, those who pre-ordered the title will be the first to get their hands on it, with all other orders following thereafter.

A hit at the Shrapnel Games Origins 2004 booth, where gamers got a hands-on look at this exciting game of near future conflict on the Korean peninsula, Raging Tiger: The Second Korean War is the next evolution in the ultra-realistic system of modern combat simulations developed by ProSIM that began with BCT. Built directly on the foundation of ATF (Armored Task Force), Raging Tiger keeps everything you love about the system and heaps plenty of more goodness on top.

In Raging Tiger you’ll still find the attention to detail that you’ve come to expect from ProSIM. From the high fidelity and true to life maps of the Korean countryside, to the always challenging and highly aggressive enemy AI, to the wealth of detail, veteran players will feel right at home and newcomers will enjoy the rich experience one gets from playing a ProSIM title.

"Hardcore wargamers are going to really enjoy Raging Tiger," Tim Brooks, President of Shrapnel Games said from Shrapnel’s North Carolina based headquarters. "Once again Pat and crew have delivered a real-time strategy game that shows that ’strategy’ can really exist in a genre noted mostly for its mouse-clicking skills. And with the new features ProSIM has added to the ATF engine I think this is probably the easiest game from ProSIM for newcomers to get involved with."

Indeed, many of the new features are meant to draw players into the timely Raging Tiger campaign. New exhilarating browser-based briefings give players a thorough understanding of the battle they’re about to face, while the colorful game graphics makes sorting out the chaos of battle even easier than before. On the subject of the battlefield chaos, one neat aspect of Raging Tiger are locked units; units that are carrying on their missions while the player is conducting his own operations. All in all, Raging Tiger is a player’s game.

Raging Tiger: The Second Korean War will retail for $44.95 and may be purchased directly through Shrapnel Games at the Gamers Front: http://www.gamersfront.com
