Codename: PANZERS Phase One Demo Now Available

July 12th, 2004 (12:00am) - CDV Software Entertainment, one of the leading German publishers and distributors of gaming software, today announced the demo Codename: PANZERS Phase One is now available online at www.panzers.com. The latest in the World War II real-time strategy genre is scheduled to ship to retail stores in North America on August 31.

Experience the devastating battles of the 1944 Normandy Utah Beach landing during the Allied D-Day invasion in the new single player demo of Codename: PANZERS. Enter this climatic phase of the Second World War and play your part in opening the long-awaited "Second Front" against Hitler’s Germany.

Take control of Lieutenant Jeffrey Wilson as the American U.S. Army Airborne stage one of the most dangerous and daring missions of World War II. After parachuting onto German-held French territory behind the beaches of Normandy, lead your troops to support Allied forces coming ashore at Utah Beach by destroying deadly German artillery. Sneak through bullet-riddled buildings, using your tactical skills and limited resources to take control of a French town, disrupt the German supply line, and avoid losses.

Developed by Hungarian studio Stormregion, Codename: PANZERS, thrusts you into the fast-paced battles of World War II with 30 missions split into three campaigns. Whether played in war-torn towns, bleak mountain landscapes or treacherous swamps, Codename: PANZERS offers real-time combat with stunning 3D graphics. Create your combat force from over 100 finely detailed units: a flame-throwing squad, a Soviet "Stalin Organ" rocket launcher, German Königstiger battle tank and many more. As commander, demolish the enemy with clever tactical maneuvers and wise employment of limited resources. Experience the nerve-jangling thrill of tactical and strategic gaming - in Codename: PANZERS.
