Possible Price and Release Date of Nintendo DS
 July 14th, 2004 (12:00am) - Rumors are flying in the Japanese retail sector considering the launch dates and possible pricing of the Nintendo DS, the company’s latest and greatest handheld gaming unit. Sources indicate that the DS (which still is not an official name) could roll out in Japan on November 4th, with a North American release just a week behind on November 11th.
If that date happens to sound familiar, well it should. That’s the day Microsoft’s highly anticipated sequel to Halo hits store shelves. Was this intentional? Does Nintendo hope to silence some of Halo 2’s thunder this November? Or will the Nintendo DS be back-burnered in the minds of video game fans? Only time will tell. The rumored retail price of the Nintendo DS at launch is $179.95 accompanied by 5 to 6 games, with 11 available by the end of the year.
