Battlefield: Modern Combat - Delayed
July 14th, 2004 (12:00am) - EA and Digital Illusions have announced that their much anticipated massively multiplayer first person shooter, Battlefield: Modern Combat, has been delayed an entire year to add a single player component into what is otherwise an online-only PC game.
"Adding more time to the development cycle of the game will result in a more expansive feature set and a more compelling product," said Greg Richardson, General Manager, EA Partners. "We are confident that this decision will result in a stronger title and continue the advancement of the Battlefield brand."
He then added: "We didn’t want to compete with Halo 2 anyways." Okay so I made that part up. Battlefield: Modern Combat will ship off to PS2’s and Xbox’s everywhere in late 2005.
