Next Tomb Raider In 2005
July 20th, 2004 (12:00am) - Top Cow Productions, the publisher of the Tomb Raider comic book, has revealed that the next Tomb Raider game is currently planet for a release in Summer 2005. The company claims to be "participating in the redesign of the new game," putting the Tomb Raider comic on hiatus - but it "will re-launch in conjunction with the release of the seventh Tomb Raider video game in the summer of 2005," said a representative.
Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness was considered to be a company failure for publisher Eidos Interactive. In hopes of breathing new life into the franchise, Eidos has removed the duties of the next Tomb Raider game from its creators at Core Design and passed it on to the proven talents at Eidos’ Crystal Dynamics development studio; the studio responsible for the highly enthralling Legacy of Kain: Defiance of last year. Additionally, rumors are suggesting that Deus Ex creator Warren Spector of ION Storm may even redesign the character model of Lara Croft herself, giving input on her scheduled re-imaging.
