To Doom or Not To Doom
July 20th, 2004 (12:00am) - Do you have what it takes to play the most anticipated PC game this year? Well, the question has been answered, as ids cheif executive Todd Hollenshead told the Houston Chronicle what gamers will need in order to run Doom III, coming to your local gaming stores August 3rd. Mr. Hollenshead laid down the hardware specifications in order to run this long-awaited game, the sequel to the award-winning Doom and Doom II:
- A 1.5-gigahertz Intel Pentium 4 chip or AMD Athlon 1500. - 384 megabytes of memory. - Two gigabytes of hard drive space. - An nVidia GeForce 3 graphics card or better; or an ATI Technologies 8500 or better. It would be advised to go one step above the minimum specs if you want Doom III running smooth on your PC. If you are looking for upgrades in anticipation for Doom III, I suggest heading to your local computer store or head over to a great online store like NewEgg to get your computer up to speed.
