August 6^th, 2004 (12:00am) - Toby Gard’s own development studio Confounding Factor quietly shut its doors after the completion of the just released action-adventure Galleon, now available exclusively for the Xbox. This news had been initially been viewed as massive road block in Gard’s path. However, today we can reveal that Mr. Gard has returned to Eidos Interactive and joined U.S. development studio Crystal Dynamics to work as a senior designer for the next Tomb Raider game, the series he helped create at Eidos studio Core Design years ago.

"Toby will complement the existing talented team creating the next Tomb Raider title," a spokesperson for publisher and franchise owner Eidos said last night. "As the creator of the Lara Croft character, he brings a unique perspective to the development process."
