Ubisoft Highest Bidder for Eidos
August 8th, 2004 (12:00am) - Early last week Eidos Interactive confirmed the rumor of a possible takeover bid, allowing the British publisher to be purchased by a small number of parties willing to pay the cash. All speculation pointed towards a possible buyout by industry giant Electronic Arts. However, recent intelligence out of the UK reports that senior managers from French publisher Ubisoft have been spending most of the past week at Eidos’ headquarters, ironing out the details of a forthcoming takeover. Analysts are reporting that Ubisoft is willing to spend approx. £215m or more on the buyout, and that a Ubisoft buyout of the company is final.
