Raging Tiger Ships

August 16th, 2004 (12:00am) - Shrapnel Games is excited to announce that ProSIM’s latest simulation on modern combat, Raging Tiger: The Second Korean War (for the Windows OS), has just begun to ship. Those who pre-ordered the title will be the first ones to try bringing another Axis of Evil member down via toppling the corrupt North Korean regime.

Designed by United States Army veteran Curt D. Pangracs and developed by Patrick Proctor and ProSIM, Raging Tiger: The Second Korean War uses an enhanced Armored Task Force game engine to deliver an awesome experience that will challenge every tactical ounce the player brings to the game. From amphibious assaults to Special Forces to the difficulty of fighting a battle amidst hordes of fleeing refugees, the wide variety of scenarios will explore a plethora of combat dynamics. Whether playing against the aggressive AI, or another human, players will enjoy a spectrum of tactical situations in the campaign rarely seen in a computer game.

Speaking of the campaign, gamers will appreciate the openness of it. While story based, with each mission being introduced with a snazzy web presentation (including some nifty intel briefings that positively reek of atmosphere), every scenario is unlocked from the very beginning. Players may freely play the game sequentially as befitting the story, or jump around, choosing their favorite mission types. And if players eventually feel they’ve gamed out the main campaign one too many times they can always use the full featured scenario editor that is included in Raging Tiger: The Second Korean War to keep prosecuting the war.

If you’re unfamiliar with ProSIM’s title please download the demo for Raging Tiger: The Second Korean War at http://www.shrapnelgames.com/prosim/Raging_Tiger/6.htm to see just how real a real time strategy game can get. More of a simulation than just a game, Raging Tiger: The Second Korean War models all three dimensions of the modern battlefield in exacting detail. Using real-world topographical maps, highly detailed unit statistics, and a flair for realism not usually found in a RTS, Raging Tiger: The Second Korean War is a wargamer’s wargame. There’s a reason why the Armored Task Force engine was chosen to help train military commanders in the real world!

Raging Tiger: The Second Korean War, with its massive campaign, scenario editor, exhaustive manual, and great multiplayer options, can be had for $44.95, through the Shrapnel Games online store, the Gamers Front (http://www.gamersfront.com).
