Midway Officially Announces Mortal Kombat: Deception for the GameCube
August 26th, 2004 (12:00am) - Midway Games today announced plans to bring the latest iteration of its world-renowned Mortal Kombat fighting game franchise, Mortal Kombat: Deception, to the GameCube in the first half of 2005.
Mortal Kombat: Deception takes martial arts-style fighting and the Mortal Kombat franchise to new heights with an innovative engine delivering intensely in-depth, blood-spurting action that will appeal to long-time Mortal Kombat fans as well as current-generation gamers. The game features powerful hand-to-hand and special weapons combat, four unique gameplay modes (Kombat, Konquest, Puzzle and Chess Kombat) along with all-new fighting combinations and multiple character specific fatalities. Mortal Kombat: Deception is scheduled to ship October 4, 2004 for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox with online multiplayer, a feature absent from the GameCube version.
