Nintendo Buys Back Its Own Shares

August 30th, 2004 (12:00am) - This past Friday, Nintendo claimed that the company will buy back 43 billion yen (a U.S. currency equivalent to $393 million) of its own shares. This transaction had been scheduled to occur sometime before the start of regular trading on Monday, and according to Bloomberg, it has. Nintendo has purchased 3.6 million of its own shares at 11,920 yen per share, which had been the company’s closing price on Friday. The transaction was completed using Osaka Securities Exchange’s off-hour trading system.
