Skip Developing for the Nintendo DS
September 3rd, 2004 (12:00am) - Giftpia is without question one of the most interesting GameCube games to ever be developed. Unfortunately, even though Nintendo and Skip Ltd. began to localize the game for a North American release, after months of being a no show, it’s been concluded that this RPG’s North American release has been canned. It’s a shame for sure, especially when taking into consideration that the game had been accepted very well by critics in Japan. Beside the point, Skip Ltd. director Kenichi Nishi revealed, in an online log, that a game for the Nintendo DS is currently in development, and progressing well.
"We’re developing a title for the NDS,” comments Skip director Kenichi Nishi in the September 3 entry of his weblog. “I’m working 12 hours a day, but the staff is putting in even more effort. This place is starting to look like a field hospital...we have a deadline on Monday, so we’re going to blast through the nights." Nishi-san and his staff are planning on having this title ready for release by Christmas in Japan.
