Shellshock: Nam ’67 Shipped to Retailers
September 14th, 2004 (12:00am) - Eidos Interactive recently announced that Shellshock: Nam ’67 will ship to retailers today, a while after the game has just gone gold.
Shellshock takes players deep into the jungles of Vietnam and right into the middle of the Vietnam War. Being historically accurate, the game will allow players to actually experience what the hotly-debated conflict of the 1990s was really like, and it is sure to be one of the most realistic war games of our time. Shellshock was developed by Guerilla Studios, who is also producing the action game Killzone. The game puts players into a young soldier’s shoes and lets them see what a job for someone like him was all about. But beware - the squeamish need not apply for duty. All of the killings, sadness, and horrors of war will be portrayed in Shellshock. Scenes such as torture, fierce ambushes, and betrayal will all be shown with striking realism. Players will set out on missions ranging from securing villages to taking position in strategic areas. They will also be asked to go on some other missions solo. The weapons of Shellshock will all be authentic and actually used during the Vietnam period. Shellshock: Nam ’67 is rated M for Mature, and carries a suggested retail price of $49.99 for the PS2 and Xbox, and $39.99 for the PC.
