Nintendo Going Into Anime?
September 29th, 2004 (12:00am) - Hiroshi Yamauchi, Nintendo’s largest shareholder and former CEO, stated at a press conference earlier today that he will propose the idea of Nintendo working on a feature-length anime film at a management meeting sometime in October. Yamauchi-san would like to have this anime based on a museum ceremony previously held in praise of Japanese literary artwork called100 Poems by 100 Famous Poets.
"I’d like to work on a product that is common not only in Japan, but abroad as well,” said Yamauchi-san. “Video games and movies share a close similarity. If it’s the decision at the management meeting, I’d like to go into that field. It’d be good for Nintendo to take a risk."
