Gates Confirms Future Xbox Live Spectator Modes
October 6th, 2004 (12:00am) - Bill Gates, Microsoft founder and chairman, confirmed during a lecture held at the University of California that the Xbox Live TV feature revealed just a short while ago through a job posting at Microsoft, is indeed in the companys future outlook for the acclaimed online gaming service.
Gates told the audience that his personal interest is the development of new interactive features for the Xbox platform, which includes creating a spectator feature that will allow gamers to view multi-player match-ups on Xbox Live as if they were watching a sports event. At the moment it is unknown if this Xbox Live TV will be implement in a later version of Xbox Live for the current Xbox platform. However, due to the fact the original job posting mentioned the Xenon (Xbox 2), its quite possible that this feature is the works for Microsofts next home console endeavor.
