October 7^th, 2004 (12:00am) - Nintendo has announced Another for the Nintendo DS. The game is what Nintendo calls "the first true adventure game" for the dual-screened hand-held.

In Another, players are thirteen-year old Ashley. In the game, as Ashley, players must solve the mystery involving the death of her mother Sayako and the disappearance of her father Richard. Both of her parents were researchers at a government lab and were involved with the creation of a "Another," a mysterious device created by the government organization. Ashley will travel to Brad Edward Island to investigate the matter.

As you may have expected, the game will utilize the Nintendo DS’ stylus to solve many of the game’s puzzles. The top screen will solve these puzzles when encountered, while the bottom screen will show Ashley moving around her 3D environments.

Although it isn’t known if whether or not Another to make its way out of Japan, titles like it have been very successful on the PC platform in North America for many, many years. And with news that SEGA’s wacky Feel the Magic: XY - XX is coming to North America as a Nintendo DS launch title, the possibility of Another coming overseas is a good possibility.

It’s dark story line isn’t actually the "norm" from Nintendo. The game should be a very interesting experience.
