Pokemon DS Games to Redefine Series
October 21st, 2004 (12:36pm) - Hey Pokemon fans! Sick of the same old games? The biggest complaint from anyone who likes Pokemon is that there’s been nearly nothing new since the Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue came out on the GameBoy. According to Nintendo, the Pokemon titles for the DS will be revolutionary.
Japanese magazine Famitsu sat down with Tsunekazu Ishihara, president of Creatures Inc. and he had this to say: "We’ve developed many entries in the Pokemon series. Among those, titles such as Pokemon Ruby & Saphire and Emerald are the backbone of the series. We’ve started developing the NDS Pokemon Diamond & Pearl as the true successors to these games. They will be the definitive entries in the series, so please look forward to them." In releated news, Pokemon Dash for the Nintendo DS was already known to be able to hook up with any GBA Pokemon cartridge, but the function of this is now known as well. "While playing Pokemon Dash, if you insert a Pokemon-related Game Boy Advance cartridge, your Pokemon will become a race course," says Ishihara. "It will become a fun course in the shape of a Pokemon." While not revolutionary, it shows a minimum of what’s possible when the GBA cartidges are used with NDS games.
