Nintendo Brings Forth "Mature" Advertising

October 24th, 2004 (11:28pm) - Even though Nintendo DS ads have been running in Japan for quite some time, Perrin Kaplan and the rest of Nintendo have announced their advertisment campaign for the Nintendo DS. Based upon the innuendo ridden catchphrase "Touching Is Good", the advertisements will make the rounds by television shows like South Park and magazines like Maxim and Blender.

Going on the record, the ’Jedi Master’ of marketing at Nintendo of America, Perrin Kaplan said

“Touching is good. When you’re a kid, you’re always told you can’t touch anything. Touching is good. You’re grown-up now, so read it how you want.”

The television commercials will feature a sexy female voice asking players to get up close with the new games for the DS. The print ads that are set to appear in men’s magazines will feature a model holding the DS with words displaying, “How to Score!… Start listening to her needs, playa!” Full length television ads being on November 18th.

This is the most mature advertising campaign that Nintendo has devised as of yet, stay tuned for more on this campaign as it begins tomorrow!
