Mario Party 6 Goes Gold, Mario Will Not Concede
November 9th, 2004 (1:40pm) - This morning Nintendo released another one of its bizarre "Did You Know?" press releases to announce that Mario Party 6 has gone gold (despite not mentioning anything of the sort in the release) and this time the press release parodies the recent Presidential Election. Here it is:
Despite recent events in Ohio, video game icon and presidential candidate Mario is refusing to concede victory. The leader of the Mario Party vowed to continue his campaign through Dec. 6, when his new game, Mario Party 6, launches.Mario launched his campaign a year ago, and early exit polls indicate he did especially well among princesses, apes and residents of the Mushroom Kingdom. "After a long political season, people need a party that offers something really unique," explains Mario. "Mario Party 6 meets the global test for fun." Mario Party 6, made exclusively for Nintendo GameCube, plays like a board game on a television. The boards change as the clock shifts from day to night. The game also includes more than 80 new mini-games, sure to delight players from all corners of the political spectrum. Mario Party 6, Rated E for Everyone, will sell at an MSRP of $49.99.
