DICE’s board of directors has unanimously agreed that the company should accept EA’s offer in order to accelarate the company’s transition to next-gen console development in 2006-2007. "The game industry is entering a very challenging period of technology transition,"said DICE chairman Torsten Larsson. "Making DICE a full partner with EA will strengthen DICEs ability to navigate the transition to the next generation of technology."
