Namco Announces MotoGP4; Screenshots Included

November 19th, 2004 (5:50pm) - As the 2004 MotoGP championships reach their thrilling conclusion, motor sport fans now have even more reason to look forward to the start of next year’s season because Namco and SCE have announced that MotoGP 4 is in development exclusively for the PlayStation 2.

With updated teams and riders, new circuits and a range of new modes, advances have been made across every area of the game. MotoGP 4 will include online play for the first time to add to the series’ established single player and head-to-head racing modes. The highly popular 125cc and 250cc classes have also been added, enabling players to test themselves at all levels of the sport.

As MotoGP has continued to grow in popularity across the globe, with television and circuit audiences at record levels, new fans have brought their unique passion to the sport. MotoGP4 now includes a brand new training system designed to show the latest generation of riders how to get the most out of these ultimate speed machines.

As well as being one of the most exciting motor sports in the world, MotoGP is also the undisputed pinnacle of motorcycle racing. The biggest names in bike manufacturing compete to develop the most advanced high-performance racing machines, as the riders display phenomenal skill around the most famous circuits in the world at speeds of up to 300 km/hr. By working closely with Dorna Sports, the MotoGP licensing body, Namco has once again raised the bar in faithfully recreating this electrifying sport and delivering an experience that will thrill fans everywhere.

Isao Nakamura, Producer on MotoGP4 for Namco, is confident that the game represents a step forward for the series: "I am very excited about this new title. We’ve added a lot of new features, such as the online mode, while still ensuring that fans of MotoGP will recognise the high quality, realistic racing from the previous games. We are also proud to include the 125cc and 250cc motorbike classes for the first time."

MotoGP 4 is scheduled for release in 2005.
