TeamXLink ’Tunnels’ PictoChat for the Nintendo DS

December 2nd, 2004 (11:00pm) - A handful of independent parties are already hard at work in attempt to get games on the Nintendo DS available for online multiplayer and today it was revealed that one of these independent parties, TeamXLink, has successfully managed to "tunnel" the built-in PictoChat software for the Nintendo DS.

The tunneling of PictoChat is the first step towards tunneling games like Metroid Prime Hunters and Super Mario 64 DS. However, at the current time "a lot of work still needs to be done." So, TeamXLink is suggesting that NDS online multiplayer hopefuls hold off on purchasing any hardware such as wireless routers, PCI cards, etc. until their tests have been completed and when the official announcement has been made. Until then, enjoy the thoughts of the possibility being near.
