THQ Gives ’Full Spectrum Warrior’ Players Something To Smile About

December 7th, 2004 (3:16pm) - While it seems that more and more downloadable content is offered as "premium content" nowadays (yeah I’m lookin’ at you Ubisoft), THQ has pulled out all the stops this holiday season and is offering two new downloadable levels - FREE - for Xbox Live subscribers. The two new levels are titled Epilogue 1 and Epilogue 2. Here’s a brief rundown taken from xbox.com:

Epilogue 1
After the demise of the Zekistan’s brutal dictator, Al Afad, the city of Al Saif is on the verge of chaos. Al Afad’s fanatical Black Wind Brigade has taken control of a northern city sector and is rumored to be organizing an insurgency against the United Nations’ Coalition Forces.

Your U.S. Army squad, Charlie 90, receives its new mission objectives: Together with an elite Army Ranger unit, you must secure the sector of the capital city, destroy the militia’s central command station, and prevent the revolt from taking place.

Epilogue 2
Upon the successful completion of the its first mission, the Charlie 90 squad is called upon to search out and destroy an arsenal of tanks, anti-aircraft guns, and other weapons currently being guarded by militia led by local warlords. The once-upscale neighborhood of Al Saif has turned into an urban war zone. With limited intelligence on the size or strength of the enemy forces, this could be Charlie 90’s most dangerous mission yet.

Working in conjunction with the Ranger’s of Mike 25, Charlie 90 is ordered to execute a hard-target search throughout Al Saif … and eliminate any resistance.

Additionally, players who had originally paid for Epilogue 1 will be receiving their money back in full. Not a bad Christmas gift, eh? With any luck we’ll see more developers offering free goodies in the future, and less "premium" downloads.
