Media Create’s Japanese Software and Hardware Sales for the Dec. 20 - Dec. 26, 2004

The latest software sales data courtesy of Media Create showcases some high sales numbers for the latest Japanese releases. Every game listed in the top ten, including Super Mario 64 DS, Dragon Quest VIII, and Mario Party 6 have managed to sell more than 100,000 units. Some games even saw a significant jump in sales compared to the previous week.

Here are the Top 10 Japanese game titles for the week of Dec. 20 - Dec. 26, 2004:

Hardware
The hardware side of things has also seen a significant increase in sales and topping off the charts once again is the Nintendo DS. Nintendo’s dual-screened handheld seems to be quite popular among Japanese consumers, selling more than 1 million units in a single month. As expected, many of the other platforms have also increased in sales compared to the previous week, with the most significant increase being that of GameCube sales. With more than 100,000 pieces of the console purchased by consumers it’s quite possibly the highest hardware sales number Nintendo has seen for the platform all year. Concerning the PSP, its sales continue to sell at a steady pace despite the limited supply available at retail.
