Street Fighter Controllers Announced for the Xbox

January 4th, 2005 (2:05pm) - NubyTech and Capcom jointly announced today the creation of a second series of smoking hot controllers based on the world famous Street Fighter characters. This time, the controllers are designed for the Xbox system, to coincide with the release of Street Fighter Anniversary Collection in February 2005.

This second round of controllers adds three more characters for series loyalists to collect: evil Akuma, powerful Sagat and somersault-kickin’ Guile. The new controllers are once again enhanced with a focus on brawling games: six convex buttons on the front of the pad, an ergonomic shape and perfectly placed analog plots and D-pad — the combo NubyTech delivers for your palms’ satisfaction.

“We wanted to develop a unique and special line to coincide with the upcoming release of Capcom’s Street Fighter Anniversary Collection for Xbox,” stated Paul Chen, president of NubyTech. “Now the fans can take their collection to the next level and use a new series of characters to beat the game.”

"NubyTech’s Street Fighter controllers will undoubtedly give players a competitive advantage whether playing against a friend in the living room or on Xbox Live," said Todd Thorson, director of marketing, Capcom Entertainment. "No other controller for the Xbox has the arcade style button layout that Street Fighter made famous."

As with all NubyTech products, attention to detail is the key phrase. The Street Fighter Anniversary Controllers will wear NubyTech patent pending N-Imation lenticular holograms, which displays the characters in one of their signature moves in motion. The package also features a high-quality collectible box and a free comic book inside the user’s manual, courtesy of Udon Comics.

The new Xbox series will be released hot on the heels of the first collection of Street Fighter Anniversary Controllers for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system. Those four characters are still available nationwide: Ken, Ryu, Chun-Li and Akuma.
