January 26^th, 2005 (2:32pm) - This week’s issue of the Japanese videogame publication Famitsu has revealed the development of a crossover strategy RPG involving two of Japan’s largest videogame publishers, Namco and Capcom. The game is tentatively being called Namco x Capcom and will feature a 2D videogame world in which players can take characters from established Namco and Capcom franchises (including Street Fighter, Soul Calibur, Klonoa, Darkstalkers, Tales, Mega Man, etc.).

The game is being developed by Xenosaga developer Monolith Soft for the PlayStation 2 and will feature the artwork of Takuji Kawano who illustrated various Soul Calibur I & II materials.
