Famitsu Reveals Two New Nintendo DS Games
February 2nd, 2005 (11:56pm) - The newest issue of Famitsu magazine has revealed the existence of two new games for the Nintendo DS, a simulation RPG from the creator of the Final Fantasy series and a remake of a classic Sega Genesis arcade game called Devilish.
In an interview with Famitsu, Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi revealed that the first game his newly founded development studio, Mistwalker, would be working on is a simulation RPG for the Nintendo DS. While details regarding the game are scarce, Sakaguchi has mentioned that this Mistwalker RPG will utilize the touch-screen for gameplay. Also, he hinted that multiplayer may be a focus, possibly allowing up to five players to join an individual party. Sakaguchi has recruited Hideo Minaba for the games art direction; Minabas is also known for his work on Square Enixs Final Fantasy series. As for Devilish, its a remake of the classic Sega Genesis game for the Nintendo DS. From the images of the game included in the issue, the games visuals have seemingly been re-tooled to take advantage of the Nintendo DS 2D graphical abilities. Devilishs gameplay is reminiscent of classic arcade games like Arkanoid and should lend itself well to touch-screen gameplay. Reported by Elias Dounis on February 2nd, 2005 (11:56pm) [From: Famitsu]
