Family Guy Videogame Coming in 2006
February 3rd, 2005 (6:56pm) - The animated TV series of Family Guy has gained a tremendous fan following over the past year or two. Thanks to the DVD release of the series first few seasons, the shows popularity is at its highest, despite the fact that the show had been put on hiatus for quite some time. Knowing that Family Guy is one popular IP, Take-Two Interactives new 2K Games publishing label has picked up the property in an exclusive deal to develop videogames based on it.
The first Family Guy videogame is expected to see a release sometime in 2004. The game will be a third-person action game that will allow players to play as some of their favorite characters from the TV show, including Brian the Dog, Peter and Stewie. "Take-Two has unparalleled experience in reaching what is the core Family Guy [demographic] and we are really excited to be collaborating with them on bringing the Griffins to the gaming community," said Peter Byrne of Fox Licensing and Merchandising. Family Guy will return to syndicated television on Fox on May 1st, alongside series creator Seth MacFarlanes new animinated series, American Dad. Unfortunately, no other details are available, although expect the Family Guy videogame to hit all next-generation home consoles and handhelds.
