Capcom takes the Nintendo DS to court; First images
February 4th, 2005 (1:40pm) - At Capcoms press event today in Las Vegas, the publisher unveiled a new game for the Nintendo DS by the tentative name of Gyakuten Saiban. Gyakuten Saiban is one of those quirky Japanese titles that never seems to make it outside of Japan, however Capcom hopes to change this fact by releasing the game in North American later this year.
Gyakuten Saiban is courtroom battle game. Yes, you read that right. Its a game that mainly takes place in a courtroom and the basic gameplay of the title involves investigating a crime (in this case, a murder) and presenting the materials in the court. Supposedly, all of this is presented to players in a way that its extremely enjoyable thanks to a plot that will hopefully enthrall players with its unique style and humor. Whats interesting about the Nintendo DS version of Gyakuten Saiban is that the game is actually a remake/port of the third title in the series, which appeared on the Game Boy Advance not too long ago in Japan. Of course, this Nintendo DS version will attempt to offer new gameplay features that will make use of the handhelds touch-screen and stylus.
