February 5^th, 2005 (12:39am) - Another one of the new titles revealed at Capcom’s press event in Las Vegas had been a third-person beat ’em up/fighter by the name of Beat Down: Fists of Vengeance.

Fists of Vengeance is scheduled to see a release on both the PS2 and Xbox from and is what Capcom seemingly believes is the evolution of the classic gameplay found in games such as Final Fight and Streets of Rage.

In the game players will roam the streets of Los Sombras, talking to various NPCs and getting into one on one fights after insulting them through an exchange of words. The battles encountered aren’t much different than 3D fighter, although (as you can imagine) it won’t be as complex as one. In addition, practically every object that you can grab can be used against an opponent.

Capcom is promising that Fists of Vengeance will also present players with gameplay scenarios that essentially recreate large gang fights, since players and enemies are part of the game’s numerous factions, organizations and gangs.

Beat Down: Fists of Vengeance is expected to hit the PS2 and Xbox in late 2005. Expect more details on the game to surface at E3 in May.
