PSP online at launch
February 8th, 2005 (7:53pm) - Most companies like to take their time before introducing online play for their consoles, but not Sony and the PSP - this highly anticipated handheld is going online the moment it arrives in late March.
Five PSP online titles have been anounced so far - Gretzky NHL, NBA, MLB, Twisted Metal: Head-On, and ATV Offroad Fury: Blazin’ Trails. While only two players can play the three sports games at a time, up to four people can play Twisted Metal, and up to six can play ATV Offroad Fury. Like the Nintendo DS, the PSP will make use of WiFi connectivity. The first mode is Ad-Hoc, or local connection, and the second is Intranet, or networked connection. Most PSP games (including the games mentioned above) will use the local one, so that players can easily link up their PSPs and play wirelessly. We’ll keep you updated as more online PSP games are revealed. Reported by Kevin Chen on February 8th, 2005 (7:53pm) [From: IGN]
