Japanese PSP UMD pricing revealed
February 16th, 2005 (12:44am) - Sony Pictures Entertainment has revealed that they will be pricing PSP UMD movies in Japan similarly to DVD releases in the territory. Sony representatives have stated a range between 3,800 yen to 3,890 yen.
No details regarding North American UMD pricing have been disclosed, although if these Japanese prices are a sign of what’s to come, then it’d be wise to expect prices in the the twenty to thirty dollar range. A UMD version of Spider-Man 2 with be included within the PSP "value pack" when the handheld launches in late march. Further UMD movie releases will follow in April with "XXX," "Hellboy," "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" and "Resident Evil: Apocalypse." New Japanese UMD releases are also expected to be available in April.
