News Corp’s interest in Eidos denied
 February 26th, 2005 (2:44am) - News Corp. sources have flatly denied the rumors of News Corp.’s intent to buy out Eidos, despite several sources within Eidos itself.
Officially, the News Corp line is that it "doesn’t comment on rumor and speculation". Eidos declined to comment. Despite the rumor of a News Corp buyout of Eidos, strong signs still suggest that an Eidos sale could be completed within a few weeks. Although the question of who the buyer may be still stands, Viacom Brand Solutions (CBS, Paramount Pictures) has been rumored to be the most likely potential alternative.
